My name is Justin King; I was born in Rockledge Florida. I lived in Florida for the first 18 years of my life.
I consider my home town to be Cocoa Beach Florida because I lived there the longest and attended elementary and high school there as well.
I moved to Ohio in 2019 I believe it might have been the end of 2018 after my dad asked me to come with him.
He moved here to help further his friend's business, and I just so happened to be preparing to look at furthering my education being so close to YSU it seemed to make the most sense to attend it.
Originally, I was supposed to begin classes in fall of 2019 but due to some issues it was put off to Spring 2020.
My original intention when attending YSU was to get a degree in criminal justice, and start a career in law enforcement after completion. But sadly, due to an increased risk of being in law enforcement after recent events, and also because I believe that a degree in computer science or information technology might be much more valuable and give me more opportunity than a criminal justice one will I am currently focused on giving them a try. I still consider doing something related to computers in law enforcement with this degree though. I am still trying to figure out what career I would enjoy doing the most and provide me with satisfaction in doing. Due to all of this my current major is set to undecided which hopefully will be changed soon.
On my free time I have a few things that I really enjoy doing. I have had the same small group of friends since elementary school and we used to go to the beach often when I lived in Florida but of course I don't live there now so we play video games together more than we used to along with my younger brother, who still lives in Florida with my mom. I also have had a great interest in technology and also science, mainly space, for as long as I can remember. A few years ago, I started to get more curious about trying to learn how games are made and played around with it for a little bit. After I learned that I could make and host my own servers for my friends I started doing that some too when we found something new to play and didn't feel like dealing with others, I would do some research and download what was need to host one for us. Sometimes I would need to make modification to parts in order to provide more of the experience we are looking for I know near nothing about SQL but enough to modify it for my use.
When it comes to space and science, I have an interest in almost all aspects of it I will read about it or watch documentaries, the scale of it including in variety of planets and black holes are my two favorite parts within the subject of space to learn about.
I think part of my interest in space might also come from where I lived Brevard County which is the county I had always lived in until moving here is where NASA and now also SpaceX have launched many rockets from, I can remember watching the space shuttle launch every so often and countless rockets.
Watching the boosters from the shuttle fall back down to be retrieved later for use again, feeling it shake the ground as it's taking off, or watching it at night as it lights up the sky has made a lasting impact on me.
Documentaries and articles on history I also have a great interest in, mainly military history, technology, and strategy, my two favorite time periods to learn about are WW2 and the classical era. The way our civilizations have risen and fallen, what they have done in order to develop the technology they came up with and their beliefs I find very interesting. It amazes me how much our technology has changed over time and how its innovation has changed so much about us.
